Silver baby rattle and whistle of a good quality which was acquired in Shanghai in the 1990’s. The fact that it does not have a hallmark strengthens our belief that it is of Chinese origin as other countries usually mark silver items. The date is however uncertain but its design makes a Republic date (1912 – 1947) very plausible. Length 11 cm. Rattle width 2.8 cm.
