Solid silver medallion-shaped garment hook decorated with a Peony flower (Wealth & Honor ). We have the impression that it was once a part of an apron chain which was worn by Chinese ladies to protect their clothes. The hook is marked with the name Zheng Tai (正泰) who may have been the silversmith or the retailer and it dates from the late Qing (1644 – 1912) to the early Republic period (1912 – 1947). Diameter 4.0 cm. Depth 1.0 mm. Weight 8.8 grams.
