Silver, partly gilt, ring decorated with a Buddha sitting on a Lotus flower in front of a temple. On the right is a depiction of a Pagoda and on the left is an unknown person who holds something in his hand. Lotuses are symbols of Purity as well as Continuous Harmony. According to Buddhism, the heart of all beings is like an unopened lotus which opens only when the teachings of the Buddha are adhered to. This is why the Buddha sits on a Lotus in bloom. The ring has some wear and tear which is caused by its age. In our opinion it dates from the early Qing period (1644 – 1912) but may even be older. Inside diameter 1.9 cm. Width 1.1 cm.
