A lady with a fan (Goodness), a boy with a book (Scholar’s object) and rocks and a pine branch (both Longevity) grace this ornament which once formed part of a piece of furniture or a bed. It has been mounted on a piece of wood to make it stand up and dates from the late Qing Dynasty (1644 – 1912) or early Republic period (1912 - 1947). It entered our collection from Shanghai in 2008.
