Three amusing lacquered hand-carved wooden panels which once formed part of a bed or cabinet. One depicts a man dozing off under a tree while the sun sets, another one shows boys being pulled away from the water by a woman whose clothes unwillingly open during the struggle and on the third panel two boys are involved in a fight while a shocked onlooker lifts his arms and drops his fan. The three panels were made at the end of the Qing dynasty (1644 - 1912). Size with frame: Length 41 cm. Height 24 cm. Size without frame: Length 29 cm. Height 12 cm.
