Finely carved ox turning its head backwards. Its eyes are inlaid with a black material. A piece of rope is attached to its horns and nose. The carver of this charming and naturalistic netsuke was based in Hong Kong and has created a number of carvings which are now part of the Lowlands-collection. His name is Song and he used to sign his carvings, as in this case, with the name Songshan (松山) or Songzan. Height 2.8 cm. Width 4.3 cm. Depth 3.3 cm.
