Goddess with stick - (1959)
[1959]

Fine carving of a pretty lady with a stick who possibly depicts Xi Wangmu, the Queen mother of the West. A crane, symbol of Longevity, is standing by her side. She holds a lingzhi fungus in her hand, also a symbol of Longevity. Xi Wangmu is however usually shown with peaches which again represent Longevity so we are not certain if she is the one represented here. Size without stand: Height 18 cm. Width 6.5 cm. Depth 5.3 cm.
