Tie pin with American Indian chief coin – (1848)

Gold tiepin with an attached ‘Fractional gold’ replica coin without denomination. One side is decorated with the head of an Indian chief and date 1859 while the other side mentions ‘gold’ and ‘California’. The tiepin was made around 1930. The coin and pin are most probably made of 9 or 10 carat gold but they are not marked. Pin length 5.0 cm. Width coin 1.15 cm. Weight 0.8 grams.
