Very small bronze statue of Parvati, the Hindu Goddess of Love, Fertility and Devotion. Along with Lakshmi (Goddess of wealth and prosperity) and Saraswati (Goddess of knowledge and learning), she forms the trinity of Hindu Goddesses. Parvati is the wife of the Hindu supreme Deity Shiva - the destroyer, recycler and regenerator of universe and all life and she is the mother of Hindu deities Ganesha and Karttikeya. This small bronze was made in Southern India and dates to the 19th century or earlier and shows her seated on a throne. Height 5.5 cm. Width 3.3 cm. Depth 2.6 cm.
