Small brass ‘blow pan’ which was used to remove impurities from gold dust by gently blowing into the narrow end of the blowpan. Blowpans are usually much larger (compare item 2284) and were used by gold prospectors in Ghana, West Africa. This one dates from the 19th century. Length 4.0 cm. Width 1.9 cm. Thickness 0.6 cm. Weight 2.3 grams. This object is now owned by another collector.
