Early geomatric-type gold weights – (4657-4672-4685-4686)

Ten brass or bronze gold weights in geomatric forms. They date from the early period (15th – 17th century). As a rule, simpler forms prevail among earlier weights whereas the decoration of later weights becomes increasinly elaborate. Gold weights over 70 grams were called ‘Chief’s weights’ and item 4657 falls within that category. Weights and sizes are shown in the last photo.
