Miniature green glazed pottery folding chair. Folding chairs were quite popular during the Ming period. When folded, they could easily be stored against a wall thereby saving space. The seat of a life-sized wooden one was made of braided rope which was soft and flexible. This pottery one which is in good condition dates from the Ming period (1368 – 1644). Height 18 cm.
