Miniature green and amber glazed model of a ritual vessel called ‘jue’. Originally a ‘jue’ (爵) was a bronze tripod vessel used to serve or warm wine. It was used for ceremonial purposes since the Xia (ca 2070 – ca 1600 BC) and later periods and its shape remained popular until well into the Qing dynasty (1644 – 1912). This miniature copy dates from the Ming period (1368 – 1644). Length 7.5 cm. Width at the top 2.8 cm. Width at the base of the feet 4.2 cm. Height 4.9 cm. THIS ITEM WAS SOLD AT AUCTION IN 2022.
