Pair of small light blue glazed pottery containers which are decorated with a chrysanthemum flower on the lids. Because of its health giving properties the Chrysanthemum symbolized Longevity. These small beauties are most probably make-up boxes which once contained a white facial foundation. They are in perfect condition and date from the Song period (AD 960 - 1279). Acquired in Hong Kong in 1991. Diameter 4.4 cm. Height 2.4 cm.
