2. Lowlands collection - Jade flower discs & hairpins
[6001]

Jade flowers (yu hua) form an important part of the Lowlands-collection. We found the first few in an antiques shop in Amsterdam in the late 1960's. Most of the jade flowers in the Lowlands-collection date from the Song (AD 960 – 1279) to the Ming period (AD 1368 – 1644). At the moment the collection consists of 660 jade flowers, 51 flower discs, 61 hairpins with flowers, 33 flowers set in silver or mounted in jewelry and 47 flowers made from other materials such as agate, jadeite, xiu yu jade and glass.
