Flower which is completely different from the rest and may therefore have been carved at a later date during the Qing dynasty (1644 – 1912). It is not a modern piece however as it entered our collection before copies appeared on the market. Translucent white jade was used to depict a Lotus Flower (Continuous Harmony) and a Lotus seed pod (Fertility). The hollow back also reveals its age. This type of flower is not depicted in professor Cheng Te-k’un’s book ‘Jade Flowers and Floral Patterns in Chinese Decorative Art ‘.
