We found this Guanyin in Taipeh in 1985. Her benevolent solemn face impressed us. And even though she is a 20th century carving we decided to add her to the Lowlands-collection. She is made of sea-green jade which turns lighter under a spotlight. What struck us, is the fact that the lower, somewhat brownish part, turns into a beautiful pure jade at the top. There is a spurious and rather crude Qianlong mark on the bottom. Height 23.5 cm. Width 14 cm. Depth 8.5 cm.
