Twisted ring – (3934)
[3934]

Ring carved from slightly yellowish white jade. When viewed under a magnifying glass, very small traces of calcification on some of the outer rims of the 'ribs' can be detected. The ridges of the 'ribs' are engraved with a fine line. This is a typical characteristic of rings made during the Warring States period. We therefore believe that this finely carved ring dates from the Warring States (475 - 221BC) to the Western Han period (206BC - 220AD). We acquired it in Hong Kong in 1989. Diameter 3.9 cm. Thickness 0.88 cm. Weight 14.8 grams.
