Gilt silver hat ornament which depicts one of the Eight Immortals. The Immortal Lu Dongbin has his ‘trademark’, a sword, on his back. Each Immortal can be identified by the attribute which he is holding (see Quick Find 7883). Lu Dongbin is standing on clouds which shows that he is an Immortal. The ornament dates from the late Qing (1644 – 1912) to the early Republic period (1912 – 1947). Height 5.0 cm. Width 2.5 cm. Depth 2.2 cm.
