Stone carving which once graced the entrance of a large mansion. It depicts a man with his dog. The man has a goatee and wears an interesting type of headgear as well as boots. He has a gourd in his hand which symbolizes Blessings. The dog which represents Fidelity, has a bell attached to its collar. This charming scene was one of a pair. The other one depicted a man with a lion but it had already been sold to someone else when this one was discovered. The carving dates from the late Yuan (1271 - 1368) to the early Ming period (1368 – 1644). Height 32 cm. Width 11 cm. Depth 11 cm.
