Donkey-powered grain mill – (2014)
[2014]

Miniature pottery model of a grain mill covered in a green, amber and straw-colored glaze as well as a donkey which was originally cold-painted in black. A mill stone which is wheeled around by a donkey is a rare thing. It’s just a pity that the top of the central pivot seems to have been broken off. The mill dates from the Ming period (1368 – 1644). Mill: Diameter 15.3 cm. Height 2.3 cm. Donkey: Length 13.5 cm. Width 4.3 cm. Height 10 cm. THIS ITEM WAS SOLD AT AUCTION IN 2022.
