Buns on a saucer – (2760)
[2760]

Miniature green and crème glazed pottery dish with foodstuffs. The food looks like some kind of bun or pancake. Objects such as this were placed on a table together with other food items which makes us believe that they were offerings. This belief is strengthened by the fact that this one seems to have been attached to another object, most probably a table, as testified by its rough base. It dates from the Ming period (1368 – 1644). Diameter dish 5.2 cm. Height including buns 3.7 cm. This item was sold at auction in 2022.
