White jade openwork flower of the ‘san yu’ type mounted on a silver brooch. On the back is a mark ‘sterling’ and the name 'Hind' which was presumably the jeweler who created this brooch. It came from America and the silver setting was probably made in Hong Kong in the 1930’s. A similar type of flower (nr 365) is depicted in professor Cheng Te-k’un’s book ‘Jade Flowers and Floral Patterns in Chinese Decorative Art’.
