Jade flower with a bronze attachment which originally held a vivid green stone. The dye which was used to create this vivid green color however faded away in the sunlight. The lower part of the bronze fitting facilitates the passing of a cord or wire. The jade flower may be older but the bronze fitting dates from the Qing dynasty (1644 – 1912). A similar type of flower (nr 268) is depicted in professor Cheng Te-k’un’s book ‘Jade Flowers and Floral Patterns in Chinese Decorative Art’。
