Short belt hook which has puzzled us for some time. There is a baby qilin on it facing the dragon head hook and it is made of a light celadon colored jade. It is difficult to define the age of this belt hook as we do not know of comparable ones. As a result we give it a Qing dating (1644 - 1912) but stylistically it could be much older. Acquired in 1981 in Geneva, Switzerland. Length 5.0 cm. Width 2.3 cm. Height 2.0 cm. Weight 24.4 grams.
