Did the carver stop half-way? It looks as if he did not finish this flower. A very similar flower (nr 172) is depicted in professor Cheng’s book ‘Jade Flowers and Floral Patterns in Chinese Decorative Art’ but differs because it has an inner circle of petals and a corona.
